Sixth Six Weeks

Week 31 objectives
Gather material for WTW HORNS UP project

Week 31 vocabulary objectives

Frame rate Stop motion Title frames

Monday-Friday- I know just as well as you do that our class will effectively meet about fifteen more times. In those scant few days, let's gather all of the source materials we need to teach next year's longhorns about the HORNS UP policies. You have a little bit of film. I appreciate that. I think it would help if we also took photos illustrating both adherence to the rules and disregard for them. Try to find students who exemplify rule followers and rule breakers. I think that we could work something out with the library to shoot pictures and footage about school work related images so we wouldn't interfere with actual classes. THanks for your assistance on this one!

Gather material for WTW HORNS UP project
Evaluate professionally created film products

Week 32 vocabulary objectives

Frame Shot type Angle

Monday-Wednesday- This week, our class will effectively meet only three times. In those three days, we will continue to gather material for our HORNS UP project, but we will also evaluate some professionally created film products. As most of you are seniors, there will be three class meetings for us before the whole school goes into testing mode. My one Junior, however, will be testing on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The rest of us should wish him luck!

Week 33 objectives
Create content and film one last thing

Week 33 vocabulary objectives

Script Frame Shot type Angle

Monday-Friday- While I know this week will be full of dance performances, AP tests, and the Cinco de Mayo presentation, I wanted to get just one last thing from you. I know you have all seen this video. In fact, Tim was the one who showed it to me. I thought it would be fun to come up with the Stuff WT White students say. It would be pretty fun, and it would make me laugh. Let's come up with a list of stuff and film it. This can be our last project grade together, though I don't necessarily need everyone to edit it.

Let's get into groups of four, come up with some Stuff Longhorns Say, film that stuff and get it to me. I'll put it together for you all to enjoy. That should be fun, right? I'll have you evaluate the participation of your teammates in the brainstorming, scripting and filming processes, and we can call it a year. Due to statewide changes in course offerings, this is the last time that a Video Tech class will be taught here (or anywhere else), so we may as well end on a fun project.

Monday-Wednesday- We'll get our Stuff Longhorns Say film done this week. Additionally, we will review for your senior final. You're almost there!

Thursday- Senior final today! It will be a performance based test. You need to follow directions as I give them, and you should all do very well.

Friday- Hey, Horace. All the seniors are gone. It's quiet in here, isn't it. It looks like we're the only ones left. What's up?

Monday-Friday- So, Horace... Let's take a look at that football highlight film. How is it looking? We should add to it and export it out with extended footage, put it on a DVD and have a nice, relaxed week. It's pretty strange with al of your classmates gone, isn't it?

All semester 2 vocabulary will be tested and reviewed

Monday-Thursday- Horace, this is our last week together. I want to do two things this week. The first thing I want to do is give you the opportunity to save your work. If you have anything on your computer that you wish to keep, I will help you save it to a DVD or a CD. The other thing I want to do is make sure you have the skills necessary to pass the final exam. In order to do this well, you will need to do the following:

  • Open a song in SoundBooth, cut it to a specific length and fade it out at the end.
  • Import that song and a few film clips to Premiere
  • Make a title in Premiere, place clips in the timeline, add transitions and use the rate stretch tool
  • Remove the existing audio from the film clips and replace it with a different piece of audio

Your test will take place on Tuesday. No pressure or anything, Horace, but you will be the only one testing at that time, so you will have 100% of my attention. I'm thinking you'll be okay with that, though. You're a pretty mellow guy...

In case you needed it, I have posted some important information below:

Friday, May 25 First period testing 8:55 - 11:00 am
